All in a day’s work
January 30th, 2010 by Rochelle
We’ve been having our call simulation training the past days and though it’s been tough, we had a blast! Who wouldn’t if you get to hear bloopers like these during the mock calls:
1. “While I pull up your account, can I hold you for a minute?”
2. Male agent talking to a male customer: “Do you like me, sir?”
3. Caller: “Money is not an issue for me, I don’t mind exceeding my current plan…”
Agent: “BUT WHY?!!!” (Affected? hehehe)
4. Agent: “You have a nice name, it’s the name of my dog!”
We also learned a new hybrid word courtesy of our wacky trainor, Jeff: (adj) badong – meaning a fusion of bad and wrong. Never mind looking it up in the dictionary nor on wikipedia, you won’t see it anywhere, lol.
After a hard day’s training last Friday, the team went to a nearby bar for some R & R.

“While I pull up your account, can I hold you for a minute?” I just love that. I remember going through mock call training when I worked for the AT&T phone company back in America years ago. It was tough! Glad you got to have some R&R after, sure you needed it.

Putting a customer on hold the proper way is always the bloopers me and my officemates used to encounter. That and keeping our Tagalog expressions to ourselves. I made a mistake once asking the customer “Magkano?” and a friend saying to a kid caller “Oh, it’s you pa rin.” Hahaha!
